How to Keep Going When You Feel Like You Can’t Go On
We all have those moments in life where we feel like we can’t go on for another day. We struggle with how to keep going. Fed up at work, wish you could quit your job… family life is falling apart. If you are waking up in the morning and feeling like you can’t go on for another day then this article is for you!
First of all, you have probably heard us and others talk about how we have the ability to create our own reality. This is true to an extent, but when external forces by which you have no control have got you really down and you can’t make a change “right now,” sometimes you simply have to accept and “make do.”
How Do You Keep Going?
Do it anyway because it won’t kill you
What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger, right? Most of the time the things that we dread the most are the things that we won’t have a choice in, like going to work to support our families. Ask yourself this logical question? Is it going to kill you? Like… actually kill you right now or today? If the answer is “no” then do it anyway. It hurts. It hurts so much to do things you don’t want to do, but in the end, the strength is yours and cannot be taken away.
Wait for relief
It’s hard to believe right now, but if you wait long enough relief will find you. You will forget your troubles and you will have a good day. Take solace in the people around you and try to make your own enjoyment in every bad situation. When the relief comes, take it and try to use it to let go of all the pain. It’s time to recharge.
Ask yourself, what can be done to make things better
All of life is a compromise. Sometimes you have to give a little to get a little and sometimes you have to give a little to yourself. What can make your situation better? Do you need time off? Do you need to look for a new job? Do you need to spend more time connecting with your family? Whatever it is, you might want to think about making the compromise.
Meditate
Studies show that meditation increases happiness and awareness. When all else fails, meditation is a free practice that can help put your life into perspective. It is a place of solace and retreat away from the chaos. with meditation, you can get through just about any negative situation. Meditation is also a good way to look into your own psyche and discover what you need to do in order to better your situation.
What you need to know is that you CAN keep on going and you HAVE to. It doesn’t mean there isn’t anything better for you out there, it doesn’t mean you are stuck and can’t make a better future. It just means you need to do both for a while. Good luck and keep your head up, friends!
