Are You Feeding the Soul the Right Diet?

We are now a month into the new year and many people are focused on their New Year resolutions. The gyms are full, the latest detox programs are on display at the stores. But while there are billions of people dieting and detoxing their bodies, there is another question that far too often gets overlooked and that is, are you feeding the soul the right diet?

Like our bodies, our soul requires the right combination of nutrients, positive thinking, love, and so on. All work together to create a spiritual diet that ultimately drives you as a person through life. You have heard the saying that we manifest our own destiny? It all begins here with you and how you feed your soul.

Everyone is different and as such requires a slightly different diet. What we are about to share is a simple guideline to help you get started with a healthier soul diet.

Here are 5 Ways of Feeding the Soul the Right Diet:

1. Eat healthier more nutrient filled foods

The first guideline is literally to eat a healthy diet filled with a balance of protein, vitamins, and minerals that your body requires in order to b healthy. We are physical beings in this world and our mind, body, and soul are all interconnected. What we feed the body, we feed to the soul. Be mindful of how you nourish your body and how you treat yourself.

2. Give gratitude

This is a big one. In the hustle-bustle of today, truly gracious people are hard to find. The thoughts we have on a daily basis is what we are choosing to feed our souls. For example, you could hate your job and because of that, you tell yourself this all the time. You say things like “my job makes me unhappy” or “if only I didn’t have to work here…”.

What if instead, you were thankful for your job. Thankful for the food on your table, the clothes on your back? What if instead, you said “I love my job because it provides for me and my family. It gives me the thing I desire to possess in my life and it has created a humble person of me.” If you desire a different source of income, it’s time to focus on achieving your dreams. Never blame a job that makes you money for your negative thoughts.

3. Connect with your body

Exercise and physical activity is also good food for the soul. To fulfill the greatest physical need for yourself is one of the best things you can do for your spirit. Why is this true? Remember, your body is your temple. How you feel physically does matter to how you feel mentally. How you feel mentally is the food you feed to your soul. At what point will your soul long to be freed from the chaos or your body if it is not in a state of health?

4. Connect with your mind

The same goes with your mind. Meditation and or yoga, quieting or resting the mind is so good for the soul. Again, what you think, how you feel will have a great impact on the wellbeing of the soul.

5. Connect with nature

Last, utilize the healing powers of nature to heal the soul. Becoming interconnected with nature creates vitality. Try sitting in the woods and thinking positive thoughts whilst giving nature the burden of your negative ones. Connect and be connected. It’s an important part of your soul diet.

Are you doing these things? What is your soul diet like? If not, we hope you will share your experience below. It’s never too late to start. The soul is a forgiving loving energy and it possesses the power to be restored.
